Welcome to the Future – Pleasant, Hydrogen-Powered Business Travel

We are not about to introduce you to a time travel machine. We are ambitious, but for the time being, we will be focusing on designing the flights of the future… the near future.

For now, we intend to make you visualize. But visualize what? The day when you are sited in a plane with ColibriV technology, you will smile with confidence, because your flight will be much more efficient, environmentally friendly and above all, pleasant.

Paradoxically, the hydrogen fan technology that we propose to you in this Kickstarter campaign began to take shape in the past when our executive director Jorge J. Peraza was a child in love with air and space travel.

Although Jorge has already grown up quite a bit, some things never changed, for example, his passion for these topics, which transformed itself into the desire to do research around propulsion.

The dreamer became a maker, and in the garage of his house in Costa Rica, he worked on a hydrogen generator, which could be stored by compression in a tank. All this is automated with Raspberry Pi and programmed in Python.

But if you think that this response is only to a childhood whim, do not jump to conclusions because there is a significant dose of altruism in this proposal.

We love mother nature.

Let’s be clear: we want to convince you to be part of our proposal, which boils down to creating hydrogen-powered turbofans and machine learning software.

And you wonder, what does this have to do with caring for the environment? Well, a lot, because hydrogen is more effective in providing power and propulsion to engines and is undoubtedly superior to the fossil fuels used by commercial flights today.

One of its sexiest attributes is that it is characterized by not producing CO2 or carbon residues and being so abundant in nature that it is possible to extract it from sewage or salty waters, which are not intended for human consumption.

And well, to add the final touch to make this a great idea, we combine it with machine learning to design safer flights.

Well, with a system of this type, data will be collected. This will allow us to analyze the information, and we will be able to anticipate events or identify failures that may affect the flight or landing.

We will also be architects of more pleasant flights because by using fans powered by hydrogen, we would achieve a reduction of annoying sounds for passengers. Likewise, central learning will save time and fuel.

Sounds fabulous, right? We know it, although it would be even more amazing to have your help to make it happen. This is why we are here.

Five years

Since everything good takes time, we envision that we will reach our objective in five years, with the help of your donations, to achieve the goal of $164,000 and our knowledge.

To do this, we divided the project into four milestones:

The first milestone will focus on model research and development and engineering for the initial turbofan to seek propulsion for aircraft greater than 110 feet.

We will also work on developing prediction models, on the software for different sensors and the necessary hardware for it, and improving the electrical system currently in place and combining it with electric propulsion and turbofan.

While in the second milestone, we will start our research to generate hydrogen from electrolysis, using water not intended for human consumption, for example, saltwater or sewage.

In this second stage, work will also begin developing a hydrogen distribution and storage system for airports, including a security system and protocols to contain eventual mishaps.

We will have around 65 people joining our team in these two stages.

At milestone three, work will be done on the manufacturing plant, and tests will be conducted.

A feasibility study will be carried out for the best area in terms of manufacturing plant construction. In addition to an airstrip and delivery center, either from scratch or taking advantage of the existing structure. The construction of the minimum viable infrastructure will also be considered in the first phase.

This will happen in Costa Rica.

While the fourth milestone is related to the construction of an aircraft for tests and the search for certifications, both nationally and internationally.

Also, work will be done regarding safety, performance, and maneuverability tests, the machine learning process, the final software, and mass production.

Your contributions bring us closer to the trips of the future.

When it comes to reaching a goal, all contributions are worth it. From $10 to $5,000, you can be part of the project and receive a reward.

What will you receive in return? If you give us $10, you will have all our gratitude and a virtual high five. You will also receive notifications of how the project is progressing and invitations to special events.

For those who contribute $25 or more, a certificate of appreciation will be offered for their contribution to improving air transportation and caring for the environment.

Contributors who offer $50 will receive a motivational poster (5 different designs available) with humanity’s achievements, which will be a motivation to achieve their own goals.

And those who contribute $75 will receive a similar t-shirt instead of a poster illustrating humanity’s achievements.

Those determined to donate a little more, between $100 and $150, will receive a glass plaque recognizing their contribution and a ColibriV airplane to scale, respectively.

Then we also have the bronze, silver, gold, and platinum memberships, ranging from $500 to $5,000. These contributors will prominently display their names on the ColibriV website and a plaque at their facilities.

If you have ever thought about changing the world, this is a perfect opportunity; the invitation to be one of the transformers of the airline industry is open. Do you dare
